Join us for the Live Announcement of the 2024 List of 7 Most Endangered Heritage Sites in Europe on 17 April 2024 (11:00-12:30 CET).

Guy Clausse, Executive Vice-President of Europa Nostra, together with Bruno Rossignol, Head of Programme for Climate and Heritage at the European Investment Bank (EIB) Institute, will host the online event where the much-awaited final list of 7 Most Endangered monuments and heritage sites 2024 will be unveiled.

The online event, with the participation of Shiva Dustdar, Director of the EIB Institute, and Normunds Popens, Deputy Director-General at the Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture of the European Commission, will be moderated by Sneška Quaedvlieg-Mihailović, Secretary General of Europa Nostra.

Representatives from the organisations that nominated the 7 selected heritage sites will contribute to the online event.

The 7 finalists are selected by the Board of Europa Nostra from among the monuments and heritage sites previously shortlisted by the Advisory Panel of the 7 Most Endangered Programme. The nominations of the sites were put forward by member organisations, associate organisations or individual members of Europa Nostra.

Since 2013, the 7 Most Endangered Programme has been helping communities save heritage sites across Europe. This innovative programme mixes the vast cultural expertise and advocacy work of Europa Nostra with the technical appraisal and rescue planning skills of the EIB and its Institute. The programme is run by Europa Nostra in partnership with the European Investment Bank Institute. It also has the support of the Creative Europe programme of the European Union through Europa Nostra’s network project European Cultural Heritage Agora.

Since the launch of the 7 Most Endangered Programme, 63 threatened monuments and heritage sites (from castles to bridges, factories and churches) from 31 countries across Europe have been selected. Some 25% of these projects have been successfully completed. Another 50% are making good or medium progress, and only three projects can be considered failures.

Join us on 17 April to find out which heritage sites in Europe have been selected for the 2024 List of 7 Most Endangered! We count on you to support us in our mission to raise awareness of and save these sites!

This online event is free-of-charge but registration is compulsory.
