[This event is organised by EUYO, a partner of the European Heritage Hub. The following text is the original description provided by the organisers.]
As Cultural Ambassadors to the European Union, performing in Bozar, Brussels on Europe Day itself is a particularly significant and symbolic occasion for the European Union Youth Orchestra. The concert, like all the events of EUYO’s 2024 Spring Tour of Belgium, takes place under the official label of the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the EU. Queen Elizabeth Competition laureate Timothy Chooi will be our soloist in Beethoven’s Violin Concerto Op. 61, conducted by Alexandre Bloch. The programme will further feature ‘Eutopia’ by Belgian composer Annelies Van Parys, a tour commission, and Ravel’s much-loved Boléro.
